Her parents, Johannes Dobler and Anna Maria Hubschneider, along with (presumably) her two sisters Anna Maria and Friederike, arrived at Castle Garden, New York on the Samuel Fox on 2 May 1853.

He served in the Civil War for 8 months, fathered 7 children with Anna Maria Koehler, became a successful farmer and prominent citizen. He is considered a pioneer of Outagamie County.
